Shubhi Mishra

Shubhi is CEO and founder of RAFT, as well as a data scientist and lawyer. She is an unapologetic disruptor in the defense industry, driving contract wins over GovCon giants to deliver innovative solutions to some of the world’s most complex digital engineering problems. Shubhi has extensive experience leveraging human-centered design principles to create accessible, impactful, razor’s-edge solutions in the highest security environments. With more than 15 years of experience in the data and technology industry, Shubhi has transformed Raft into a leading player in the defense ecosystem since its inception in 2018. She began her journey in the world of data and technology by earning an MS in computational biology from Boston University and a JD from George Washington Law School. Shubhi embarked on a successful career in the tech industry, holding various roles in software engineering, data analysis, and product management at Fortune-500 organizations prior to starting her own company. Shubhi is a champion for women in STEM and leadership and pursues a “LFG!” winning agenda in all arenas from fielding tip-of-the-spear solutions to Peloton sprints.

Raft’s Chief Technology Officer Bhaarat has been an integral and formative part of the Raft team since its inception. He prides himself on being hands-on working in complex environments, applying technology to solve unique and challenging user problems. Bhaarat has over 17 years of experience building user-focused applications in various frameworks. He received his master’s degree in computer science from Georgia Institute Technology and was awarded a patent for systems and methods for extracting text from digital images. Bhaarat is a perpetual student and pursues constant improvement; his current areas of interest are Deep Learning, tightening the kill chain with low latency data streaming, and fostering an inclusive team culture.
Tami Hrivnak

Vice President

Tami is Raft’s Vice President and technology enthusiast, who loves leading the development of user-centric solutions to solve complex customer problems. Before joining Raft, she led Agile Product Teams using DevSecOps approaches to drive digital transformation at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). She has over a decade of Product Management experience in both the civilian and government space. An officer in the Navy Reserves and previous service in the Army National Guard, Tami is passionate about delivering powerful capabilities to the warfighter. She received her master’s in organizational leadership from the University of Denver and a BS in Security and Intelligence from The Ohio State University. She and her entire family are huge Buckeye fans. O-H!

Graduating from the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!) and currently pursuing a graduate degree in I-O Psychology from Harvard’s Division of Continuing Education, Danielle is always focused on the cutting edge of research and strategies to help people thrive at work. When she's not busy shaping the future of human engagement and operations, you'll find her exploring Northern Virginia's wine country or cheering on the Baltimore Ravens.
Angie Sheffield

Senior Director of Data and AI

As Senior Director of Data and Artificial Intelligence, Angie leads Raft's practice to operationalize data-centric and AI solutions for decision dominance in all warfighting domains. She is an expert in responsible AI for defense and national security. Angie started her career as an applied mathematician and intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force, and later worked as the Director of Decision Modeling and Optimization at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. She joined Raft after leading industry, academia, and the National Laboratories to harness AI to reduce nuclear threats as the Senior Program Manager for AI at DOE’s National Nuclear Security Administration. Angie is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, has an M.S. in Operations Research from Kansas State University, and is a war college graduate with an M.S. in National Security Resource Strategy from NDU’s Eisenhower School.

As Raft’s passionate Senior Director of Talent, Sam focuses on recruiting skilled people and their potential for agile and innovative solutions. Over his 17-year career, Sam has excelled at utilizing cutting-edge TA technology, fostering process enhancement, cultivating a compelling employer brand, and guiding TA team building and management. Sam connects teams across departments and plays a pivotal role in the entire Business Development life cycle. His understanding of day-to-day operations facilitates seamless collaboration between Talent Acquisition and BD to assemble great teams and drive missions. Sam lives in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida, with his loving family, which includes his wife, son, and two cherished dogs.
Kristen Shaw

Kristen is Raft’s Director of UX, leading the practice of user-centered research and design to create exceptional experiences for Raft’s customers. For over eleven years, she has focused on crafting every aspect of delightful experiences - designing and optimizing digital products at the nexus of business and user needs that span public, private, and non-profit sectors. She is passionate about user-centered design, solving complex problems through design thinking, and applying her talents to serve missions with impact. Her philosophy, borrowed from Leonardo DaVinci, is “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” Kristen has a BS in Graphic Design and a MS in Information Communications Technology from the University of Denver. Off hours, Kristen spends time with her husband, daughter, and their three dogs, traveling, connecting with friends, reading, and streaming the latest releases.
Dagan Henderson

As Vice President of Platform Engineering, Dagan lives his work ethos. He believes that technology should enhance our abilities, experiences, and reach; solutions should be secure, reliable, and proven, and outcomes should be measured, tracked, and intentional. Dagan is a Kubernetes Platform Engineer, a software engineer and security researcher delivering hardened, mission-critical platforms for Raft’s customers. Dagan has been programming for more than 20 years, developed commercial software solutions in 10 programming languages, and was awarded two US patents. He is passionate about secure application development and distributed computing. Dagan loves to share his knowledge in compelling and accessible ways including hacking demonstrations and video presentations.
Jessica Weaver

Jess is Raft’s Director of Operations with a proven track record of driving successful outcomes through the development of critical business partnerships, implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, and innovative solutions to complex problems. She has been instrumental in supporting Raft’s contracts, bringing top talent to solve hard mission problems to enable the war fighter. She leads and manages a portfolio of multi-faceted programs and projects with multi-million budgets and empowers cross-functional teams for success through training, performance management, and research-based insights. She received her BS in Public Relations from Franklin University and a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from University of San Diego. Jess is also a Group Chief out of the 121st Air Refueling Wing of the Air National Guard with 20 years of service.
Barak Stout

R&D Director

Barak is Raft’s Sr. DevSecOps Engineer with a talent for simplifying complex problems and building clean solutions that meet user needs, and codebase standards and automation applications for security, testing, developer happiness, and governance. Barak also leads Raft's open-source collaboration efforts. He is experienced in providing backend developer services and APIs, AWS, Python, Kubernetes, and DevOps tools (including Jenkins). Other interests include microservices architecture, functional programming, embedded systems, UI/UX design, software quality, web service architectures, serverless, cloud computing, agile development methodologies, and distributed platforms. He earned his BS in Computer Science at George Mason University and a MS in computer science from Georgia Tech's OMSCS program. Away from his computer, Barak enjoys running and cooking.
Jesse Fullerton

Director of Contracts

Jesse is Raft’s Director of Contracts with 18 years of dedicated experience in the GovCon industry. A majority of his career has been spent growing emerging small businesses into industry leaders within their market segments. Jesse brings a uniquely versatile skill set with expertise in contracts, finance, pricing, and operations. Within the Raft team, he plays a crucial role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of contracts and subcontracts, proposal pricing and compliance, maximizing portfolio financial performance, engaging with customers and partners, and implementing scalable business practices to facilitate Raft's growth. Jesse holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Shenandoah University. Outside of work, he is a passionate supporter of DC sports teams and can often be found alongside his wife, cheering for their son and daughter on the soccer field.
Steve Morgan

Chief Data Engineer

As Chief Data Engineer, Steve is responsible for developing Raft’s data engineering team into a world-class organization with well-rounded dynamic engineers who greatly understand all aspects of the data stack, from governance and quality to distributed high-performance computing. He has over 15 years of experience in the defense industry, most of which has been as a data engineer and architect. He is a Lockheed Martin Fellow Emeritus for his work done to build a data platform at Lockheed Martin, which impacted every employee and was used on projects including Orion, the F35, and the Blackhawk. Steve has an M.S. in Computer and Information Sciences from SUNY Polytechnic Institute and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Systems Science at Binghamton University. During off-hours, you’ll probably find Steve outdoors golfing, canoeing, skiing, or spending time with his 2 kids and wife.
Hitesh Sharma

Senior Platform Lead

Hitesh is a Sr. Lead Platform Engineer and specializes in GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes, and Automation. He has an impressive 10-year career dedicated to solution architecting various systems/platforms and is passionate about designing and implementing container platforms that can take full advantage of the cloud and embrace the DevOps culture. Hitesh is currently the TCODE Platform Lead at US Transportation Command and previous Gravity Platform Tech Lead at Space CAMP. Prior to his work at Raft, he also worked in various technologist roles for Booz Allen Hamilton and Accenture Federal Services. Hitesh received his BS in Information Systems from Northern Illinois University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling the world.
